History
Bradford Regional Medical Center assumed operation of the Meals on Wheels program March 1, 2017. The program was previously operated by the Bradford YWCA. BRMC and the Bradford Hospital Foundation worked collaboratively to bring this program to the hospital and to continue to provide this vital community program to the residents of the area.
How the program works
Bradford Regional Medical Center Meals on Wheels provides nutritious hot meals for homebound clients five days per week, with an alternate menu option available. Weekend meals are available upon request. Volunteers deliver meals directly to clients' homes.
Clients, whose mobility is temporarily or permanently diminished so that shopping for food and/or preparing meals is difficult, can be referred to the program through a healthcare provider, family member or through a self-referral.
Our staff
Stacy Shotts-Williams, Bradford Hospital Foundation Executive Director, oversees the program for the hospital.
Sue Conner, Meals on Wheels project coordinator, runs the day-to-day operations of the program.
Donations
Monetary donations and memorials of any size are greatly appreciated and can be made to the BRMC Meals on Wheels Benevolent Fund by contacting the Bradford Hospital Foundation at 362-3200 or online.
